Hanna Matkovska holds BA (Philology, English), MA (Translation Studies, English) and PhD (Philology, Germanic Languages) degrees and works as an Associate Professor at the Department of English for Humanities.
Qualifications:
2011 – graduated from the Faculty of Linguistics, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, with Master’s Degree in Translation Studies (with hons.).
2014 – entered grad school and completed her postgraduate studies in 2018 defending the thesis for Candidate’s Degree in Philology (spec. 10.02.04 Germanic Languages) in 2019.
2019 – completed a summer-school course in computational linguistics at Grammarly.
2020 – took the full-time ELT course and received a Cambridge CELTA certificate.
Career highlights:
2011-2016 – worked as a lecturer at the Department of English for Specific Purposes №1, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute;
2016-2021 – worked as a lecturer, senior lecturer and Associate Professor at the Department of Theory, Practice and Translation of English;
2021 – joined the Department of English for Humanities.
Area of research interests: audiovisual translation, stylistics, narratology, history of translation.
