Scientific activities

Teachers of the department participate in scientific conferences in Ukraine and abroad, publish papers in professional journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine, prepare monographs and present reports for scientific conferences and seminars, covering current theoretical and practical issues. The results of research work of teachers of the department are discussed at monthly departmental scientific and practical seminars, seminars for novice teachers and at scientific and practical conferences.
All teachers of the department are supervisors of student research work. Every year, teachers help students prepare reports in English for student scientific conferences (International scientific-practical conference “Innovations in science and technology”, International Internet conference “Ukrainian and Foreign Science: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”, university conference “World War” II and Ukrainian Science: Achievements, Acquirements, Bereavements») and prepare for participation in knowledge competitions in foreign languages. Professors and candidates of sciences (Prof. I.O. Simkova , Assoc. Prof. N.M. Dukhanina , Assoc. Prof. Y.A. Kornytska , Assoc. Prof. O.L. Ogurtsova) review Master theses of the students of the Faculty of Linguistics.
Areas of scientific activities of the department:
– publishing papers in professional journals;
– delivering speeches at scientific conferences and publication of abstracts on third-party platforms;
– organizing and holding of scientific and practical conferences at all levels;
– providing scientific and advisory assistance to students of 1-4 years of non-language faculties in writing professional abstracts in English and for participation in English-language scientific student conferences and competitions in professional disciplines;
– passing exams on the candidate minimum;
– working on dissertations and preparation for defense;
– managing the student scientific club;
– organizing and holding of scientific seminars;
– organizing and holding of scientific seminars of the Novice teachers focus group.

– admitting to post-graduate education;
– administering candidate exams;
– defending dissertations;
– participating in cathedral conferences;
– organizing and testing of independent work of students;
– conducting seminars on practical teacher training;
– publishing conference abstracts ;
– participating in internship programs;
– participating in seminars, courses, etc., including in the British Council, the American Training Center, etc;
– preparing students for conferences;
– providing advisory training to students for the defense of term papers, bachelor’s and diploma theses in a foreign language;
– managing pedagogical practice of the students of the Faculty of Linguistics ;
– writing peer reviews of scientific and methodical manuals, textbooks, etc.
