17.06.2022 International Round Table "War in Ukraine: Consequences for the World Economy"

An international roundtable discussion on the topic “War in Ukraine: Consequences for the World Economy” was held on June 16 at the Faculty of Management and Marketing. The purpose of the event is to discuss the current situation and its consequences for the world community, as well as to deepen cooperation between the FMM and foreign partner universities in the framework of existing agreements on mutual understanding and cooperation. The roundtable discussion was attended by 79 experts from different countries, including Germany, Norway, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, the United States and Ukraine.

 

 

The guests were welcomed by Marina Kravchenko, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Marketing, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, and Killion Munyama, Professor, Senior Adviser to the Global External Services Action (EEAS) in Brussels, Member of the Polish Parliament (from 2011 until 2021), keynote speaker and co-chairman of the Steering Committee of the African Global Business Summit in Berlin 2022.

Reports were delivered by researchers from SGH Warsaw School of Economics (Poland), the School of Management of the Technical University of Munich (Germany), Trakya University (Turkey), the Center for Central and Eastern European Studies of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland), the Cracow University of Economics (Poland), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), WSG University of Bydgoszcz (Poland), VSB-Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Research Center for Industrial Problems of Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kharkiv), and National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

The participants discussed a number of important issues related to global food and energy security, migration and reduction of population of Ukraine, particularities of the educational process in the war time, tools and measures for reconstruction of the country, innovative and technological development of Ukraine and the world.

The participants agreed on the next meeting and further exchange of views on this important topic.
