History Lessons from "Breakfast with 1+1": Foundation of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

124 years ago, on August 31, 1898, the solemn opening of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took place.
Entering Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was by no means easy: only 360 applicants out of more than 1,000 were enrolled. Entrants’ knowledge of specialized disciplines was carefully checked.

Today, 28,355 bachelor’s degree applications have been submitted to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which is the largest number among Ukrainian higher education institutions.

Anatoily Melnychenko, vice-rector for academic affairs of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, talked about the number of this year’s entrants and the organization of studies in the new semester.
