Kyiv Polytechnic is expanding its cooperation with the universities of the Republic of Indonesia. The parties plan to implement joint projects in the field of public administration, social work, international relations, and gender studies.
This was discussed at a meeting with the Ambassador of Indonesia to Ukraine Arief Muhammad Basalamah and Professor of the Catholic University of Parahyangan (UNPAR) Ms. Sukawarsini Jelantik, which took place at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Kyiv Polytechnics plans to start joint research and exchange of innovations with the Catholic University of Parahyangan, which is one of the leading universities in Indonesia. It has strong academic schools in the humanities, including law and sociology. Therefore, the Faculty of Sociology and Law was determined as the basic unit of the KPI for the development of cooperation with UNPAR. After all, the FSP is currently actively implementing research projects under various international programs, such as: Erasmus+, Visegard+, Digital Europe, etc.
The participants of the meeting are convinced that the cooperation will contribute to the effective exchange of scientific knowledge, joint scientific events, conferences, and student exchange.
“We have already agreed on specific actions: we invited the professor to give a lecture at the university-wide course “Asian Studies”, which is taught to all students of our university as part of their familiarization with Asia – its culture, way of life, and thoughts. I am convinced that it will be useful for all KPI students,” said Yuriy Perha, Deputy Dean of the FSP for Research.
This meeting was a logical continuation of the partnership between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Indonesians, which was launched several years ago after the visit of the Indonesian Ambassador to Ukraine to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In December 2023, another meeting of the parties took place, at which they agreed to prepare a memorandum of cooperation.
