KPI students are among the winners of the large-scale Student Tech Challenge 2024 competition

Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physics and Technology (ER IPT) took part in a team competition for creative Ukrainian engineering students – Student Tech Challenge 2024 from Huawei Ukraine.

The FlowDynamics IPT team (Yevhen Mitko, Viktor Ivanov, Mykhailo Smoilikov, Yana Kalisetska) took 1st place in the Thermal Management category. As part of the competition, the team proposed models of radiators to minimize and distribute the temperature generated by the central processor. It is important that the students used the knowledge and skills they had already acquired during their studies to complete the tasks. The solutions they came up with will be useful to them when writing their qualification papers and master’s theses, as well as in their future professional activities.

“My impressions were very interesting, the tasks were non-standard, I have never faced such a task before. Personally, I liked the organization. If there is an opportunity to participate next year, I would not refuse, it was a very interesting experience. And I already know that it will help me in my future diploma work, because it is also related to fuel cell, these are fuel cells. I will continue to make models and use this knowledge in the future,” Yevhen Mitko, first-year master’s student (Institute of Physics and Technology).

“It is true that we have a powerful team! Everyone had different solutions, they were quite interesting. It seems to me that our team took a more comprehensive approach to solving this issue. I am currently working on my thesis and it is also related to processor cooling and radiator optimization. In general, the competition is quite large-scale for the first time, and I think it will only get better. In fact, my impressions are very good, I have participated in many competitions, and if it is held further, I think I will come here next year,” Yana Kalisetska, a student of the Institute of FTI.

We are proud and congratulate our KPI students on their victory!
